Mark Driscoll Resurgence Conference Begins Today, Free Live Online Streaming

Mars Hill Church pastor Mark Driscoll has made the Resurgence Conference 2013 available online free of charge. Driscoll will be joined by pastors Matt Chandler, Greg Laurie, Rick Warren, James MacDonald, and Crawford Loritts in Seattle for the two-day event.

Mark Driscoll is one of the most widely downloaded preachers in the world. He leads 14,000 people at fourteen different Mars Hill Church locations across the nation, and is known for proclaiming the word of God with bold humor and authenticity. Through the Resurgence Conference, Driscoll desires to take the body of Christ's focus off of leaders of different doctrinal tribes within the church and to help refocus Christians' attention to evangelism. "I am asking the Holy Spirit to use the instructional and relational aspects of the conference to help leaders from various tribes waste less time fighting and more time learning so we can all invest our energy in evangelizing," he told The Christian Post.

Driscoll's new book, "A Call to Resurgence: Will Christianity Have a Funeral or a Future?" is scheduled to be released today. The pastor received a lot of media attention for his surprise appearance at John MacArthur's Strange Fire Conference in October, where he spoke with attendees and handed out copies of his new book. Driscoll tweeted that his books had been "confiscated," and later wrote a letter to help clear the air, extending a friendly invitation to MacArthur to dialogue about their differences in theology regarding the work of the Holy Spirit during this week's conference. "I sincerely hope he will decide to join us," Driscoll told The Christian Post - "But I have not heard from him. If he did show up, I would strive to lovingly engage him while leaning on him. There are two ways we error when it comes to the Holy Spirit - going too far and not going far enough. That is what I would want to lovingly, respectfully, publicly, and pointedly discuss with my brother if the opportunity arises."

Conference speakers include Matt Chandler, lead teaching pastor at The Village Church in Dallas-Fort Worth and president of the Acts 29 Network, Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship in California, James MacDonald who founded Walk in the Word ministry, Rick Warren from Saddleback Church in California, and Crawford Loritts who pastors Fellowship Bible Church in Georgia and preaches to professional sports teams.
