Even though Sony was a bit late with this month's free games announcement for PlayStation Plus members, we're still excited to see what's on the list for March.

Each month, PlayStation Plus members get a handful of free games just for subscribing to the service. These games can range from triple-A games to low-budget indies and everything in between. Let's take a look at what's being offered for the month of March.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee - New 'n' Tasty (PS4)

This reboot of the 1997 classic is described as a cinematic platformer from developer Just Add Water. In the game, you control a Mudokon named Abe in the land of Oddworld.

"Explore ancient ruins, dodge carnivorous beasts and avoid trigger-happy hunting parties as Abe, the original Oddworld hero in this lovingly re-crafted take on PlayStation® classic Abe's Oddysee," the game's official description states. "Once a happy floor waxer in Oddworld's biggest meat processing plant, Abe stumbles across his boss's secret plan to turn the factory's slave labor force into the latest in the RuptureFarms Tasty Treats line of novelty meat snacks. Abe now has to save his own skin from the grinders even if simply escaping the flesh farm is only the start of his Oddysee."

Valiant Hearts: The Great War (PS4)

Ubisoft Montpellier has developed this puzzle adventure game that is set in 1914 during World War I. The game is actually based off of actual letter written during the Great War and features a storyline that sees four characters help a young German soldier find his love.

"This is the story of crossed destinies and broken love in a world torn apart," Ubisoft describes. "Of people who will try to survive the horror of the trenches, following their faithful canine companion. In Valiant Hearts, the lives of these characters are inextricably drawn together over the course of the game. Friendship, love, sacrifice and tragedy befall each one, as they help each other retain their humanity against the horrors of war."

Papo & Yo (PS3)

This fantasy puzzle game comes to us from developer Minority who presents a unique game of friendship between a boy and a monster.

"Papo & Yo is a Puzzle-Platforming Adventure that follows the tale of a young boy named Quico and his best friend Monster, a huge beast with razor-sharp teeth and an addiction to poisonous frogs," Minority says about the game. "The minute Monster eats a frog he goes into a violent rage that's bad news for everyone around. And yet, Quico isn't afraid to make a dangerous journey to find a cure for his best friend."

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments (PS3)

Frogwares brings a classic detective tale to life with the iconic Sherlock Holmes in this game originally released in September of last year. As Holmes, you will solve six mysterious cases that range from murder to theft to missing persons and more.

"The great freedom of action in Crimes & Punishments allows you to conduct your investigations in the manner you deem appropriate," the game describes. "Choose the leads you wish to pursue, interrogate your suspects and, from your deductions, name the guilty parties... and determine their fate wisely, as surprising consequences may arise where you least expect them."

OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood (PS Vita)

This brand new sequel to the original OlliOlli features the same action skater moves as the original, but with even more tricks, worlds, 50 new levels, 250 new challenges, and even a revamp to the combo system.

CounterSpy (PS Vita)

This side-scrolling stealth game is set in an alternate history version of the Cold War of the 1950s and 1960s.

"CounterSpy focuses on the rogue third spy agency, C.O.U.N.T.E.R., that keeps the world's super powers at bay," according to the game's summary. "Just as each side of the ongoing conflict gets close to unleashing a blow of earthshaking proportions, C.O.U.N.T.E.R. jumps into action, stealthily sabotaging their dastardly plans and deceptively maintaining world peace."

These games are now available for free on the PlayStation Plus network until April 7, 2015. If you're not yet a PlayStation Plus member, head over to the community site and sign up.
