'Tekken 7' Release Date and Characters for Xbox One, PS4: U.S. Arcade Release for EVO 2015 this July

Tekken 7 Bandai Namco

Gamers in North America will have the opportunity to get a first glimpse of one of the most popular fighting game series, Tekken 7, during the EVO 2015 competition to be held from July 17 to 19. This year's Evo will take place at the Bally's / Paris Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Christian Today, quoting a report from Latino Post, said that expert players would have the opportunity to play Tekken 7 during EVO 2915 or Evolution Championship Series. It added that since EVO 2004, the annual competition has been using PlayStation platforms instead of the arcade cabinets. During EVO 2014, the games were played on Xbox 360.

EVO 2015 is also expected to use home console version of the fighting games. This fueled speculations that Tekken 7 will also run in a home console version during the tournament, thus players will get a first taste in playing Bandai Namco's latest edition of the popular Tekken series on home consoles, the report said.

However, a report by IGN said that while Tekken 7 is indeed included in the EVO 2015 lineup, but the game will be featured on arcade platform. It added that featuring Tekken 7 on arcade marks the end of a decade long absence of cabinets in Evo.

Last week, we reported that Tekken 7 will be available on Xbox and PlayStation platform in August 2015 after Cyberland has confirmed its official release.

"It can now be confirmed that Tekken 7 would be available on the consoles by August," wrote Cyberland as it added that its source Bandai Namco has confirmed that the Japanese gaming giant has allegedly set the Tekken 7 release date for the PS4 and Xbox One in Q3 2015.

Another report by KDRAmastars.com also said that Bandai Namco's Katsuhiro Harada has confirmed that a Tekken 7 PC release is being considered by the company.

Early this month, Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Tekken 7 fighter, Yoshimitsu, which fans described as creepier than before, reported Gamespot.com. Yoshimitsu has already undergone several redesigns over the year, and he was given a new look in Tekken 7. Yoshimitsu's design has retained his basic core move, including his signature pogo stick-like hopping on the tips of his sword. But he now looks a mix between an octopus and an alien.

"Tekken 7" was recently launched in Japanese arcades and sees the return of characters such as Jin Kazama, Paul Phoenix, and Yoshimitsu while also introducing new characters such as Josie Rizal, Lucky Chloe, and Katarina.

Also returning is Jack, now known as see 'Jack-7, featuring the same mohawked robot that gamers knew.
