Japanese game developer and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., teased on its official Twitter account about a major announcement on July 7 regarding Tekken 7 that sent fans of the blockbuster video game on frenzy mode.

Bandai Namco's was written in Japanese, but its translation in English reads, "On Tuesday, July 7, 2015, there will be a major announcement from the Tekken project, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. Please look forward to it. #Tekken7," the tweet reads.

Bandai Namco's July 7 announcement will not solely focus on Tekken 7 but will also discuss the 20th anniversary of the hugely popular Tekken series, said Attack of the Fanboy. Fans of the Tekken franchise are hungry for any update on the next installment as Bandai practically skipped the recently concluded E3 2015 Convention.

It was earlier speculated that Bandai Namco will make a major announcement about the release date of the much-anticipated and one of the most popular video games, Tekken 7, during the EVO 2015 competition to be held from June 17 to 19 at the Bally's / Paris Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The fighting game has had a successful arcade launch in March featuring characters, including Gigas, Josie Rizal, Shaheen, Lucky Chloe, Katarin and Claudio, according to Franchise Herald. Those characters are also expected to be included in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Tekken 7, the report added.

Fans are hoping that Bandai Namco will finally announce the release of Tekken 7 on PS4 and Xbox consoles. Unfortunately, PS3 and Xbox 360 users will not be playing Tekken 7 as the video game is built on Unreal Engine 4 platform.

Attack of the Fanboy also reported that Bandai Namco's Katsuhiro Harada has confirmed that the video game publisher is "considering a PC version for certain countries that prefer or need to play on PC". The report said that Harada's statement was a strong indication that Tekken 7 will eventually be ported to the PC in the coming months.

In late March, Bandai Namco Games' revealed three new characters in Tekken 7, including a female fighter from the Philippines named Josie Rizal. Rizal's character was developed by Mari Shimazaki and Mad Catz's Mark "Markman" Julio who has his roots from the Philippines, said Crossmap.com.

As a Filipina fighter, Josie Rizal is an expert in using the Eskrima fighting style, known in the Philippines as arnis. Her character was made possible after Markman pitched about the idea to Harada and provide him inputs about the Filipino culture, as well as the name of her character, including her many traits.

In Tekken 7, Jin Kazama's character was made playable in the arcade platform on March 31 and Devil Jin was officially introduced on April 7 Josie's character was originally scheduled to be released on first week of May.
