On the 239th anniversary of the nation's birth, the annual Macy's 39th Annual July 4th Fireworks Spectacular will once again lit up the New York sky on July 4th for a 25-minute synchronized display involving more than 50,000 pyrotechnic shell and effects.

NBC, who is co-producing the show, promises an exciting fireworks display this year, with the new shells and effects including multi-colored transformation ghosts, blue and red octopi, crescent moons, patriotic stars, double hearts, roaring dragons, screaming banshees, purple rain and spiderweb-shaped shells. It said this year's pyrotechnic display involves combining these incredible effects in 22 various colors, including new neon highlighter yellow, green and pink.

"Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" airs Saturday, July 4 (8:00 -10:00 p.m. ET/PT) with an hour-long encore presentation at 10:00 p.m. The telecast is a production of  Universal Television in association with Macy's. It is produced by Brad Lachman Productions with Lachman serving as executive producer. Bill Bracken is producer.

The Macy's 4th of July Fireworks display is considered as the most famous Independence Day celebration of the more than 14,000 shows in the U.S. every year, said Go BankingRates.

This year's executive producer of the Macy's Fireworks show Amy Kule described the 2015 4th of July Fireworks event to Cititour, "With two locations, firing 1,600 shells per minute, this year's show will cover a large stretch of the City's famed skyline with incredibly vibrant color and fantastic effects."

The most spectacular party in America will be held simultaneously on the East River in Midtown and within the South Street Seaport district. The show will be fired from four barges positioned between 23rd and 37th Streets in midtown and from one double-barge positioned below the Brooklyn Bridge.

Revelers who are attending the fireworks display are encouraged to listen to radio station 1010 WINS-AM during show to synchronize the choreography of the musical score with the pyrotechnic show.

Six-time Grammy nominated multi-platinum singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran top bills an all-star performance, including Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, Flo Rida and Meghan Trainor. TODAY co-hosts Willie Geist and Tamron Hall will be the emcee for the night.

For those planning to watch the fireworks live in New York City, Macy's have created a map that lists out a number of secured locations and access points to them, where viewers can get the best view of the Macy's July 4th Fireworks Spectacular. The city is advising those planning to attend to get setup around 5 p.m. although the actual fireworks don't begin until 9 p.m.
