Season 11 of Grey's Anatomy shocked the fans with the sudden death of fan favorite Dr. Derek Shepherd, aka McDreamy, (Patrick Dempsey), with fans clamoring for his return.

However, Chandra Wilson, who plays the influential doctor Miranda Bailey, promises fans Season 12 of Grey's Anatomy will be full of surprises and excited, following his return to the show after giving birth to a child and a painful divorce. Bailey told Zap2it her return to the show also marks her return to her old and notoriously tough self.

"(You'll see) some self-confidence that you haven't seen in a while from her coming out...It looks like from what I'm reading in the next script, she's across the board giving people a hard time. That's why I'm saying it's some classic Bailey about to come out," she said in the interview.

She went on to say, "I want to be chief. That's what I want. What do I have to do to make that happen? You're going to see some classic Bailey stuff, some classic Bailey behavior."

This could mean fans should expect a nasty jostling for position in Season 12 of Grey's Anatomy led by Dr. Bailey as she hustles for the coveted position at Grey Sloan Memorial hospital. Expet also Bailey to give her contenders for the chief surgery position a hard time.

Meanwhile, an interesting twist in the next installment of Grey's Anatomy is the rumor that Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) will be leaving the show after Season 12. Movie News Guide said Pompeo will be bidding the popular medical drama series goodbye.

However, Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes and Pompeo have not confirmed the reports. Still there are speculations Meredith's character will develop Alzheimer's disease in Season 12 that will allow the writers of the show to kill off her character and eventual departure from Grey's Anatomy.

"But before the [rumored] killing part, Meredith will be having a another love interest in the form of Martin Henderson" Movie News Guide wrote and added, "Henderson was reported to enter the longtime medical drama as a new doctor and a potential new love interest of Meredith. It was rumored that Henderson could be the new male lead since Patrick Dempsey's character, Derek, is already dead. He died in a car accident, leaving the poor Meredith with three young children. This led to speculations that Henderson's character will fill the missing pieces in Meredith's life-he will help her to manage her professional and personal life."

Before the end of Season 11, Meredith was trying to move on with her life and cope with the loss of McDreamy. She even sought the help of one of her best friends, Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), and asked if she and the kids can stay over his home for a while. The move is one of the major turning points in the relationship between  Dr. Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) and Alex's as they were hit with the realization they need to move to the next level.
