Samsung fans will be treated with the next big thing in the Android world when the South Korean tech giant hosts its Unpacked event a week from now. It is the venue widely believed to be where the upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge Plus as well as the Galaxy Note 5 phablet will be revealed.

Days before its rumored launch, we now know more about the curve-edged device thanks to pictures posted by popular case maker Spigen. These new images is in line with what we have already seen in earlier leaks, but now they give us a more comprehensive view at the soon-to-be-launched handset.

While the photos, which you can see here, provide a good look at the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, they did not disclose any detail regarding its specifications. What is obvious is that the device, listed by Spigen as "Galaxy S6 Edge+," appears to be just a bigger version of its predecessor. Rumored to sport a curved 5.7-inch display on both edges, the upcoming model is only 0.6 inches larger than the current S6 Edge.

Aside from these leaked renders, a recent benchmark listing surfaced online to give us a substantial glimpse into the handset's specs. Benchmark database site AnTuTu posted an entry indicating that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be powered by Samsung's own Exynos 7420 chipset paired with a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM along with a Mali-T760 GPU.

It is expected to sport a 5.5-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution resulting to an incredibly sharp 534ppi pixel density. It will be run by the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. On the back of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is a 16-megapixel camera. Meanwhile, the front panel is furnished with a 5MP snapper.

The device will come with 32GB of internal storage and it's predicted to come in multiple storage variants. Unfortunately, images leaked earlier suggest that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, along with the Galaxy Note 5, will not support storage expansion as both devices won't come with microSD card slots.

These Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus cases by Spigen will reportedly begin shipping on September 30. As such, the actual Galaxy device can be expected to become available before that date. In any event, those who are patiently waiting for the S6 Edge successor won't have to wait much longer as Samsung will most likely take the wraps off its Galaxy S6 Edge Plus during the much awaited Unpacked event on August 13.
