NetherRealm Studios Director and Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon hinted of a Kombat Pack 2 when announcing the Mortal Kombat X DLC which sent the gaming community in frenzy.

A report by Design and Trend said that the new Kombat Pack 2 would include new characters, such as Baraka, Rain, and Sindel. There is some validity to this speculation as all the three characters already have their own distinct move, however, they are not yet playable in the latest version of Mortal Kombat X. The speculation of the entry of the three characters because it coincide with Ed Boon's previous revelation of a Story Pack, which could also be included in the rumored Kombat Pack 2.

Also rumored to appear in the Kombat Pack 2 are Bo' Rai Cho, Fujin, and Kabal.

Over the past days, Boon has been teasing Kombat Pack 2 over at Twitter. This week, a fan tweeted a manipulated image showing a billboard with the question, "When is KP2 Coming?"

"Um...what are you trying to tell me?" Boon cheekily replied.

Mortal Kombat X fans are now awaiting Kombat Pack 2, after release of classic character Tremor. As of now, the KP2 release date remains unannounced. The first Kombat Pack also includes the playable character Tanya as well as classic skins for Kano, Sonya and Liu Kang. MKX is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The release date for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions is expected to be within August 2015.

During a live Twitch broadcast last month, Mortal Kombat X developer NetherRealm Studios said that Tremor was the last addition to Kombat Pack 1. This reference surprised viewers, whom were previously told that there was only one Kombat Pack.

It is not entirely impossible for there to be additional content for Mortal Kombat X. In the latest quarterly earnings report by parent company Time Warner, MKX was listed as a major contributor to the 15 percent increase in the company's reported income of $3.3 Billion in Q2 2015.

A separate report by VC Post also confirmed that NetherRealm Studios has received permission from Todd McFarlane of Image Comics to use Spawn as one of the characters in 'Mortal Kombat X DLC'. With the permission, fans should expect a Spawn DLC to be included in the upcoming

'Mortal Kombat X DLC' series.
