Dying Light 'The Following' DLC Update Release Date on PS4, Xbox One

Dying Light
"The Following" DLC coming soon. (Techland)

Dying Light is a game where the player is an undercover agent who has to infiltrate a zombie quarantine zone in the city of Harran.  It features a lot of open-world exploration as well as parkour free running in a town full of enemies.  It has achieved some success since its release last January, and soon players will be able to get some downloadable content (DLC) with "The Following".

According to the Express, Dying Light's DLC will update the game with a new story.  It has been given a full trailer with some details including the new location, enemies, vehicles, and skill tree.  Dying Light: The Following, is named because of the mysterious and fanatical cultists that "have unnerving connections with the zombie outbreak".  These cultists live in a hazardous outback, and the area is as big as the original maps from Dying Light combined.

As for where this area is, Design and Trend reveals that it could be the Uzon mountains, which is referenced on the game's open world map.  If you want to travel on them, you could, using a dune buggy.  There has been footage of the game's protagonist, Kyle Crane, riding one of those vehicles, which would be a good way of getting through those mountains.

After all, if I found out that there was a zombie plague, the first place that I would go is to the mountains.  I would just assume that zombies would have a hard time following me and just give up.  Of course, if I got to the mountains and found there was nothing there but cultists, I might have just exchanged one type of zombie for another.

The DLC was tried out with attendants at Gamescom, and there were a lot of positive reactions to its new map and gameplay additions.

For those who are contemplating purchasing Dying Light for the PS4, there is good news as you will be able to play it for free, according to Attack of the Fanboy.  As of August 26th, there will be a Dying Light Demo that will allow PS4 players that chance to see how they would survive in a very The Walking Dead type scenario.

Speaking of bonuses, it is possible that current players of the game can get in on a bonus.  At E3, Bungie announced a partnership with Red Bull so players can earn some interesting DLC bonuses for their big game, Destiny.  There were a lot of problems with the availability of his particular giveaway.  In response, Techland said that all that Dying Light players have to do is share this glass of H2O and they will be awarded a code for a premium weapons docket, according to Tech Times

So far, there hasn't been a confirmed release date for when The Following DLC will appear on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, but it should have a price of about $14.99, but Season Pass holders will be able to obtain it for free.  A season pass can be purchased for $19.99.
