Be warned, rollouts are always phased process. That means not everyone will receive their updates on the same day. Happily, Sony has been good about keeping consistence with update announcements.

This summer for instance, Sony users were quick to receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop. he update is also available for Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and Xperia Z2 Tablet. Naturally, it took awhile for U.S. carriers to start introducing Android 5.1 Lollipop to their versions of the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2.

Wireless providers usually need to conduct extensive testing before a new operating system is rolled out to subscribers. On the other hand, users with unlocked devices will get their updates first.

What Does Android Marshmallow Bring to the Table?

Amongst new features include Android Pay and fingerprint support, which theoretically improves consumers security when purchasing with the device.

Naturally, we wouldn't know how secure this practice will be until later. Android Marshmallow is just starting to be released on Google's proprietary Nexus series.

Also, the top four most recently used apps will now appear on the top menu. App Drawer has been improved with a new interface with vertical scroll instead of horizontal.
