Game Awards 2015 Live Stream, Schedule, Start Time: How to Watch Online and List of Nominees

It used to be the Video Game Awards were an event on Spike TV, but now the best place to watch the Th Game Awards 2015 will be online.  There is definitely going to be a lot to see at The Game Awards 2015, and for those that want to Live Stream or watch the event online, here is a schedule of the date and time, as well as several places to see it in front of a computer or television. 

The Game Awards used to be associated with Spike TV, but the New York Times reports that executive producer Geoff Keighley spent $1 million of his own money to finance the awards in 2014.  Not only will the show be showcasing some of the best games of the year, but there will be some trailers for upcoming games and newly announced titles.  Cinema Blend predicts that gameplay from Uncharted 4, Quantum Break, and Crackdown 3 could be on display. 

Other events that are rumored to happen at the Game Awards include a new Mortal Kombat X character being revealed, as well as a special announcement about the virtual reality world with the Oculus Rift, according to Bidnessetc.com. Gamespot reports that there will be some special presenters with Mark Hamill, Kiefer Sutherland, and Shaquille O'Neal, and there will be musical performances by Deadmau5 and Chvrches, which both have ties to gaming. 

A full list of all the nominees can be found on another article from Cinema Blend, and the categories are very broad including Developer of the Year, Best Independent Game, Best Mobile Game, as well as awards for different genres of games (Best Shoot, Best Action/Adventure Game, Role-Playing Game, Fighting Game, Family Game, Sports/Racing Game, Multiplayer, etc.).  Like the Academy Awards, there are all kinds of awards based on Performance and Art Direction, but most look forward to the Game of the Year Award. 

This year, the award will go to one of the following:

  • Fallout 4 (Bethesda Game Studios / Bethesda Softworks)
  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (Kojima Productions / Konami)
  • Super Mario Maker (Nintendo)
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (CD Projekt Red / Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment)

The 2015 Game Awards will air via Live Steam on home consoles and PC on December 3rd at 6:00 PM (Pacific Time) in the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.  If you want to schedule a time for the event, head over to The Game Awards website and find out where you want to watch it.
