Legend of Zelda Wii U Release Date; Is a New Trailer a Sign That The New Game is Coming?

The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U.
It might not show until the Nintendo NX.

Few gaming franchises have achieved the success of The Legend of Zelda.  Nintendo's game series goes all the way back to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), and the game did well on the Nintendo Wii.  The Wii U has yet to see a Legend of Zelda game, but it needs to as it could indeed increase sales more than Mario Kart or Super Smash Brothers.  This is what is known about the Legend of Zelda Wii U including some news about a possible new trailer revealing that the new Zelda game could be on the way.

For something that is in the spotlight like this, it is common to hear of unreleased trailers being made.  Such is the case of the Suicide Squad movie, and GamerPros reports that one has been made that is targeted for both parents and children.  There is no actual trailer, but a description from what is hopefully a reliable source.

The advertisement features a daughter who says that she wants to be a hero like Link. As she unsuccessfully puts together a Link costume, and then her father steps in and helps his daughter out.  The advertisement ends with "A New Generation Begins", with The Legend of Zelda logo and "only on Wii U Screen".

The Ad is possibly meant to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the game as an older version of a Gamecube Zelda game Windwaker has been released, and a Wii U Twilight Princess is on the way  This could be the official advertisement for The Legend of Zelda Wii U, which has been a long time coming.  When the Wii U first came out, fans wanted to see the latest that Nintendo would do to The Legend of Zelda, which is one of the company's biggest franchises, next to Mario.  The next Zelda game was promised for 2015, and there was some footage revealed last year of the game with an enormous map as well as the actual open world.

Then fans looking forward to the game received the terrible news that there would be no way to release a Legend of Zelda game by 2015.  This led to rumors that the game could be delayed until 2017, which could mean that Nintendo is waiting for the release of their newest system, the Nintendo NX, to release another game in the series.

Hopefully, the game will succeed in being released in 2016.  Just having the game out by then could be a huge shot in the arm for Nintendo, who is seriously falling behind what Sony and Microsoft can do on their respective systems.
