For those who are Xbox Live Games with Gold subscribers, you probably want to hear what free games are available for March 2016.  There isn't really much news on next month's front, but this month pretty covered and time is almost run out on one game.  There actually is a lot that has been predicted for March 2016, and it really is a matter of what Microsoft chooses, honestly.

There isn't a lot of news of what games are coming, for March 2016.  We previously reported on some possibilities not only for March but for the rest of the year.  It includes:

  • Alan Wake
  • Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
  • Crackdown 2
  • Dark Souls 2
  • Dead Island: Riptide
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  • Doom 3
  • Duke Nukem Forever
  • FlatOut: Ultimate Destruction
  • Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
  • Halo Wars
  • Homefront
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
  • Rage
  • Rage Replay
  • Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2

One of the patterns that has been discovered before is that often a free game will come out that is similar to a new offering of the franchise.  Since Doom is making a comeback this year, Doom 3 sounds like a safe bet.  After all, Deus Ex: Human Evolution was available for free last January, and it will have a new iteration to the Deus Ex series later this year.

In the meantime, these are the games that are still available for the month of February.

Hand of Fate from February 1-29.  This game involves the player in visiting some fortune teller who is using magical Tarot cards to put the player in a real life (within the context of the game) Role Playing Game (RPG).

The next game available for players of the Xbox One is Styx: Master of Shadows, but not yet.  It begins on February 16th and goes until March 15th.  According to the game's Steam entry, the game is named after Styx, the main character of the game who is a two hundred year old Goblin, with a lot of fantasy RPG elements.

Time is running out for players of the Xbox 360, as Sacred Citadel is available from February 1-15.   This game is a side-scrolling action brawler that is part of a series, the Sacred series, taking  place on a magical continent known as Ancaria, with all kinds of fantasy races like elves, dwarves, and even vampires making appearances.

Once the limit for Sacred Citadel runs out, Xbox 360 players will then be given a special treat with Gears of War 2, available from February 16-29.  Unlike all the other free games for this month, which take place in a very fantasy or alternate medieval history, Gears of War 2 takes place in the future.
