Latest news about Android Marshmallow update on Motorola Devices

Thousands of gadget lovers gathered at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and tech enthusiasts say Motorola might use the tech trade show to lure more customers.  The company is one of the phone makers that are quick to deliver Android updates to its subscribers. Android Marshmallow (Android M) was released last year, so Moto users are now wondering the release date of the new firmware to their devices.

The Moto X Pure Edition (also known as Moto X Style) under Sprint was upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow last year, and users from Brazil, India and Europe get the update shortly. Then, Motorola conducted a beta test for the Droid Turbo 2 on Verizon and released the Android Marshmallow to the device.

The 2014 version Moto X was updated last December, and now the Moto G and its LTE variant are receiving the Android 6.0 update in phases.

Furthermore, Moto G 2015 smartphone owners from India, Europe and the U.S. got their Android Marshmallow, and it is now rolling out to other parts of the world. For Moto E 2015 users, they should expect to receive the update very soon, as the company is following its scheduled rollout.

For Motorola Moto (Gen 2) owners, the Android Marshmallow update is available now for both 3G and LTE-versions in India, according to Neurogadget. Users should also check their gadgets to know if Android M is already available for them, just go to About Phone > System Updates.

Interestingly, Moto 360 smartwatches are updated to Android Wear 1.4, which is based on Android Marshmallow.

The other Motorola gadgets that are eligible for Android M update includes Moto X Pure Edition, Moto Maxx, Moto Turbo, Droid Turbo, Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, and Google Nexus 6.

The Android Marshmallow update weighs roughly 454MB, so users have to make sure that they are connected to a stable Wi-Fi before downloading the new OS version. For a successful installation, it is also advisable that users have to charge their gadget for at least 50%.

Motorola added some cool and innovative features to the system exclusively for Moto users.  The phone manufacturer added "Do Not Disturb" option under the "Sound and notification" and improvements in Moto Assist feature.

In general, Android M has useful and innovative applications like Google Now on Tap, Direct Share, Moto Assist and battery-saving Doze. For more information about Android Marshmallow update on Motorola devices, check this link.
