Apple 2016 Keynote Event Schedule and Update; iPhone 5SE, iPad Air 3 and MacBook Pro Release Date

After months of rumor and speculation, Apple confirmed the schedule for its next keynote event. On March 21, tech enthusiasts will witness the launching of improved iPad Air, 4-inch iPhone SE and the rumored MacBook Pro 2016. Now, here is the latest information about when is the next Apple Keynote event.

The Week published the upcoming Apple event will be held at the Town Hall auditorium on Apple's California-based Infinite Loop campus. It is expected the gathering will be a "smaller scale event," compared to the last event in September 2015, when iPhone 6s debut.

The Cupertino-based tech giant is set to reveal two new devices and potentially more. One of the much-anticipated Apple products is the iPad Air 3, which was expected to be launched last year.

Over the years, Apple has been conducting keynote events in March. In March 2012, the iPad 3 was released. In March 2015, the company introduced the Apple Watch and the latest MacBook. So what are the new Apple devices for this year?

iPhone SE/iPhone 5SE

Aside for the hotly-anticipated iPhone 7 in September, Apple is scheduled to introduce a new entry-level device on March event to replace the old iPhone 5S.

The 4.0-inch iPhone 5SE, also referred to as iPhone 6c, is expected have to similar looks with the 5S, partnered with some iPhone 6 traits, such as curved cover glass.  Several key improvements in iPhone SE will be found on its processor and chipset.

The device will be powered with A9 chip with 1GB of RAM DDR3. For internal storage, it will have a minimum of 16GB variant and hefty 64GB model. Estimates show the iPhone 5se will be priced around $450 for the 16 GB storage variant.

iPad Air 3

The next-generation iPad Air will be even thinner than the iPad Air 2. It will also boast A9X chipset, partnered with 4GB RAM. These specs will help the device to perform multiple tasks and prevent screen lags. In addition, the iPad Air 3 will have an updated Apple Stylus-friendly display and Smart Connector.

Apple Watch upgrades

Early reports suggested Apple would release an Apple Watch 2 this month. However, the company will just present a handful of upgrades on smartwatches at the March Keynote event. It is reported that Apple will unveil a new line of smartwatch straps.  The additions could include new Sports Band options and new colors for the Hermes bands.

With these new developments, Jackdaw Research analyst Jan Dawson expects the upcoming Apple gadgets will help to boost the sales of the company.The Street reported Apple's revenue in India increased 38% year-over-year, with iPhone sales growing by 76%. Research firm Counterpoint Research said India had a smartphone base of 220 million users by the end of 2015. Therefore, the upcoming devices will have a huge impact on tech market.
