Tech enthusiasts are looking forward to the launching of Google Nexus 7 2016 this year. Today's online reports say the device might be developed by HTC or LG. Now, here's the latest information about Nexus 7 2016 release date, specs and rumors on the web.

Rumors say that the Taiwanese phone maker HTC will manufacture the next Nexus device. HTC teamed up with Google before in developing the HTC Nexus 9 tablet, which was released in 2014. Know You Mobile reported the HTC-built Nexus will run on Android N and has support on Google's upcoming 3D Touch feature.

However, the Bitbag published that Google will work with LG to develop the Nexus 7 2016. The South Korean tech giant reportedly signed a three-year contract with Google. The details of the said contract are still unknown, but several tech websites claim LG will build the next Nexus devices.

LG has already contributed so much to the development of Nexus devices, that's why Google agreed to expand its partnership with the company. In addition, LG took the helm in making two of the most popular Nexus devices, the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5X.

Interestingly, latest smartphone of Google, Nexus 5X, is being sold at a discounted price. Tech experts say this move suggests that Google wants to refresh its device lineup in preparation for Nexus 7 2016's launching. Gadget lovers can own the 16 GB variant of Nexus 5X for just $199 and the 32 GB model is at $249. This promo lasts until April 7.

As for the release date of Nexus 7 2016, rumors say it will be released at Google I/O conference, which will happen on May 18 to 20. It is also reported that the next-generation Nexus 7 will remain a budget-friendly device to lure more buyers.

Some of the rumored features of the device are 4G support and Wi-Fi connectivity. It might also come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It might also sport a screen display of 7 inches along with a screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,800 pixels.

As of now, Google has not yet denied or confirmed any of these Nexus 7 2016-related information. It is advisable that readers should take these specifications and details with a grain of salt.
