Speculations are now running high about the much-awaited iPhone 7. Today's reports say the top-spec iPhone 7 Pro will feature dual-camera and Smart Connectors.  For those unaware, it is widely expected that the upcoming iPhone 7 will be available in three models. Now, here's what is currently known about iPhone 7 release date, specs and rumors on the web.

The leaked schematics of iPhone 7 came from popular Japanese magazine Mac Fan. The magazine claims iPhone 7 Pro measures 7.3 mm in thickness, slightly bigger than the 7.1-millimeter iPhone 6S Plus. Industry experts say iPhone 7 Pro's dual-camera feature is one of the reasons why the phone is thicker.

A report from Forbes says the dual lens camera of iPhone 7 Pro could have some revolutionary optics.  Apple has not yet described how the lenses would work. Some say the new camera technology is for normal and wide angle shots like the LG G5. Nonetheless, the dual camera is a significant improvement in iPhone's photography feature.

By looking at the leaked iPhone 7 design, one can notice the three holes on the backside of the device. The same source from Forbes says it could belong to a Smart Connector. This feature may help users to connect the device to a Smart Keyboard or enhanced battery cases. Other rumors hint the connector is for wireless charging.

On the other hand, schematic shows Apple decided to axe the smartphone's oldest universal standard, headphone jacks.  In addition, the company used three-generation-old chassis design for the iPhone 7.  With that move, many gadget lovers are thinking how Apple would sell the device.

Additionally, the other big question is how the iPhone 7 Pro will affect the sales of the standard iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Based on the leaked specifications, the top-spec model has a better camera and display features. Hence, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus could have smaller storage options and single lens camera.

Considering this only a rumored leak, it is possible that this isn't the real iPhone 7. The Cupertino-based company has not yet confirmed or denied any of the details above, so readers are advised to take it with a proverbial grain of salt.

Tech Insider predicted Apple might reveal the whole lineup of iPhone 7 on September 2016. Stay tuned with us for more updates.
