‘Elder Scrolls 6’, ‘Skyrim 2’ Release Date and News; Signs Pointing To a New Game in 2019 with an E3 2016 Announcement?

If you know anything about Bethesda, then you know how busy they are.  The company really had a huge hit to deliver that last year with Fallout 4, and it is still delivering it with some serious DLC (Downloadable Content) like Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, and the most recent and biggest yet with Far Harbor.  The company also owns the rights to another huge video game franchise with The Elder Scrolls, and many of the fans of the recent offering of Skyrim believe that the company is overdue for a sequel.

It really has been a while since Bethesda released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, as it came out in 2011.  Granted, there was a follow up with Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited in 2015, but considering that the Elder Scrolls series had been getting an offering every four or so years, many believe that another offering of the game is due, possibly overdue.

According to Counsel Heal, many fans are beginning to believe that the four-year gap points to a release date of 2019 for The Elder Scrolls 6.  This is assuming that this will be the title of the game, but with Skyrim being so popular and the official abbreviation for The Elder Scrolls 5, it might be just good marketing to call the next game The Elder Scrolls 6: Skyrim 2.  Yeah, that might be a few too many numbers in the name there, but it really is all about the brand recognition.

Some are hoping that Bethesda will pull off some kind of trick and make the next Elder Scrolls game come out in 2017, but that would require a very special brand of magic.  The company is working hard at producing a sequel to the hit game Dishonored with Dishonored 2, and there really is only so much games that you can develop, even more a big company like Bethesda.

It's very clear that Bethesda wants their Dishonored series to be as big of a hit as Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls, so they might devote everything they can into promoting the steampunk series rather than the fantasy series of The Elder Scrolls.  You can believe that there will be a demand for another Fallout 5 game in the next few years, just like there is demand for another Elder Scrolls game right now.

Of course, Bethesda does have E3 2016 coming up very soon, like in the next few weeks.  It is quite possible that the company will use the big gaming convention at the LA Convention Center to make an announcement, or at least hint at the next Elder Scrolls game.

It is most certainly what the fans want, but usually announcements aren't made unless the actual product is planned on being released within a year or so.  Of course, we are living in an age where hype for a sequel begins even before the original is released, so it might be better marketing for Bethesda to put out a teaser trailer for the sixth Elder Scrolls game now.
