Apple made a huge announcement today for the fall of 2016 as they unveiled several new products, including the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.  There was also the Apple Watch Series 2 (S2), and the release dates of iOS 10.  Also coming are some wireless earbuds of the AirPods, and Super Mario comes to iOS.  So, what is the news about iOS 10 jailbreaking and MacBook Pro 2016?

iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus and Release Date

As expected, there are two new models, and they are the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.  So what is new about them?

Well, news is that they have a "water resistant" coating.  It is has a IP67 coat that is on the original Apple Watch.  While it may not be completely waterproof, it is going to be good protection in case it gets soaked.

Also as expected is an improved camera system, with what Gizmodo calls DSLR-quality photos.  It utilizes "Lytro-like" features to allow the user to refocus a shot after the photo has been taken, with the help up dual 12 Megapixel lenses.  It automates settings like focus, exposure, white balance, tone mapping, noise reduction, and more.  The front-facing camera will be risen to 7 Megapixel from its 5 Megapixel former model.

Then, on the inside, the A10 Fusion processor goes to four cores, and adds a six-core graphics chip.  They also have the best battery life of any iPhone with two additional hours of use in the iPhone 7 Plus and another hour on the 7.

It will be going on sale on September 9 (just two days after announcement) for $649 and $769 according to Wired. According to The Next Web, the color options include new different shades of black with both "jet" and "black".  It will also be available in rose gold, gold, and silver, but space gray is no longer available.  Also no longer available is the 16 GB version, as the lowest option that you will have will be 32 GB.

Apple AirPods

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus has no headphone jack, which was a big rumor that was finally verified.  The new iPhones will be coming with earbuds with a Lightning connector at the end.    Looks like Apple just created a market for a Lighting-to-headphone adapter.

However, they will also work with wireless headphones, and it looks like you will need to get one of those. While you are going wireless, you might as well use Apples own version with the AirPods.

We all know that we are in the age of wireless earbuds, and the AirPods will give you 5 hours of listening per charge.  Not only that, the AirPods also have accelerometers, which means it knows when you putting them in your ear and when you are talking on the phone.  They cost about $159.

The Apple Watch Series 2 (S2) Release Date

Finally, the Apple Watch has received an Apple Watch Series 2, aka Apple Watch S2, and it is also not completely waterproof.  It is swim-proofed, and it is designed to eject water out of the speaker grill and submergible up to 50 meters.

The original Apple Watch could only have GPS if used with the iPhone, but the Apple Watch 2 has built-in GPS capability.  This makes the new Apple Watch something more of a FitBit.  Speaking of physical fitness, Apple is working with Nike to create the Apple Watch Nike+, available in four cool colors.

The watch body somehow lost weight, and the battery life is 36 percent larger than the original.  The Apple Watch Series 2 will be available for pre-order on September 9 with a release date on the week of September 16.  Both the Apple Watch S2 and the Nike+ series will cost $369, but the Apple Watch Nike + showing up in late October.

By the way, WatchOS 3 is coming on September 13, and there are new features for fitness apps, a more responsive interface, a new Breathe app, and it will be able to play Pokémon Go.

iOS 10 Gets a Release Date and Jailbreaking News

The latest and now double-digit upgrade to its operating system has been in beta for the past two months.  The new iOS 10 will bring in iMessage, improve maps, and makes Siri more useful with extension support.  It will arrive on September 13.

So, what does this mean for jailbreakers?  Well, you will always have the jailbreak of iOS 9.3.3.  Yes, it doesn't look like there will be any jailbreak of iOS 9.3.4 or iOS 9.3.5 with iOS 10 coming up.

However, the great iOS hacker of Luca Todesco has published a YouTube video demonstrating a working jailbreak running iOS 10 beta 8.  Then he said that he won't reveal his formula to the public, as usual.

So when will that iOS 10 jailbreak happen?  Pangu is working on it, so it really is hopefully a matter of time before it comes to jailbreaking users.

Mario will be Coming to iOS Release Date

Near the beginning of the event, Nintendo's own Shigeru Miyamoto took the stage to announced new Mario titles that will show up on the iOS App Store.  Imagine a Mario that you can touch on the screen to make him jump, and the higher the touch, the higher the jump.  You can also collect a bunch of coins like Temple Run

iWork Gets and Update

Another big announcement related to applications was the iWork apps including Pages, Notes, and Keynote, which offer real-time collaboration between colleagues.  You can also share a document and edit it alongside each other, similar to Google Drive.

No New Apple MacBook Pro or Air 2016 Announcement As Yet

What is really interesting is that the long-awaited Apple laptop, the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, was not mentioned.  This was kind of a surprise, as that announcement should really have been made as there really hasn't been an update for a while.

So it is overdue.  Also, Microsoft will reveal its Surface Pro 5 later in October, and it just seems right for Apple to unveil a product that will compete against it.  I suppose that this will have to happen.
