Nintendo NX October Release Date, Price and Latest News

The Nintendo NX would be Nintendo’s upcoming console, and from what we have learned so far, this will be a hybrid device that can be played at home -- and when you need to go out, bring it with you so that you can continue playing on-the-go. This is definitely brings about yet another revolutionary form factor where gaming is concerned, which is something that Nintendo is extremely good at. From an earlier rumor of a March 2017 release date, it seems that the rumor mill has been working overtime recently to point to a possible October 2016 release date.

According to the Wall Street Journal technology reporter, Takashi Mochizuki, he has his own thoughts concerning the Nintendo NX prediction -- sharing it via Twitter that "Speculation is Nintendo would unveil NX details in coming week. I guess all we can do is just wait. No announcement from company yet."

For such a massive release, having such a tight schedule is definitely a surprise -- the right kind of surprise, of course. Pleasant for sure, but for those who might have spaced up their savings to make sure that they can afford it if it is released next March, perhaps this might cause a damper in their plans. A new report today has surfaced, points out that the Nintendo NX might make its official debut simultaneously with Beyond Good and Evil 2. The latter title was recently announced as an active project at Ubisoft.

While Beyond Good and Evil 2 was unveiled officially eight years back (!), it has more or less kept a low profile since. Ubisoft has mentioned that the game is still being developed, and it also has a working title of Beyond Good and Evil: The Prejudices of Philosophers in the pipeline. Some say that this title might end up as a Nintendo NX exclusive.

There are certain quarters that believe how expectations surrounding the Nintendo NX has risen to such a level that it might end up being a disappointment if it does not live to such lofty heights. The Macquarie Group also claims that there is enough rumbling on the ground to point to a Nintendo NX reveal next week. October 21 is the cited date, which would be in line with earlier reports which jive with the special Nintendo Direct event that would be held later this month. After all, isn’t it the 5th Anniversary of Nintendo Direct on October 21? Nintendo might as well make a meal out of the timing and situation, killing two birds with a single stone.

Other alleged leaked marketing materials point to a Super Mario title at the Nintendo NX’s launch -- which would not be out of place, and the console’s release has also been touted to arrive with a quartet of titles to get avid gamers started right out of the box.

The predicted retail price for the Nintendo NX would reside somewhere between $300 and $350, which will clearly price it out of the volume sales category. Expect it to be Nintendo’s rival to the PS4 Pro and Xbox One Scorpio, where both already have an enviable games library.
