Philadelphia 76ers Trade Rumors: Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers, Eyeing Nerlens Noel

For quite some time now, it has long been rumored that the Philadelphia 76ers will move Nerlens Noel through a trade. New reports suggest that if this happens, the Noel could end up playing for the Portland Trail Blazers or the Boston Celtics.

Currently, Noel has not yet played in the regular since he's still recovering from a knee surgery. But despite his current condition, this doesn't mean that the young athlete hasn't stirred up interests from other franchise. After all, aside from being young, Noel is an effective defensive player who can easily take on the role of rim protector for any team in the NBA.

One of the teams that is reportedly interested in getting Noel is the Portland franchise. According to Bleacher Report, the Trail Blazers have already started negotiation with the 76ers for Noel. However, details about the potential trade are still unknown, which means it is not yet clear who Portland will give up just to secure Noel from Philadelphia.

If, however, the deal between the 76ers and Trail Blazers don't work out, the Philadelphia front office could turn to Boston. Ever since the offseason, the Celtics have been tangled in various trade rumors about different players, including Noel.

Signing him would be a great move for the Celtics' defense as it will provide them with a solid guy to protect their basket. But like the case with Portland, there are official reports yet as to who the Celtics will trade in exchange for Noel. But, it has been speculated that the team is planning on pairing up one of its core players with a potential draft pick for the trade.

For now, these dealings are only based on rumors and speculations. But, no matter what happens, fans of the 76ers can expect to see the team move Noel. As previously reported by Hoops Habit, after weighing their options for Noel and Jahlil Okafor, the 76ers have decided that they prefer to keep the latter instead of the former. With too many big men on the roster, it seems the team wants to create a balance in the lineup by trading for a guard.
