It seems Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michal Floyd didn't take the loss to the Miami Dolphins too well since he was arrested on DUI charges following the match. According to police reports, authorities found the athlete passed out inside his car, with the engine still running.
Luckily for Floyd, he did not get involved into a serious accident due to his behavior. Instead, his car was found obstructing a roadway.
According to Arizona Sports, Floyd was found by a police officer near Goldwater Boulevard and Camelback Road in Scottsdale, Arizona, at 2:48 a.m. the day after his team lost the Week 14 game against the Dolphins.
The officer, who was inside his patrol car and waiting to make a left turn, was behind Floyd. However, after the traffic light turned green twice, Floyd's car still didn't budge. This prompted the officer to approach the vehicle. He then discovered the wide receiver asleep in the driver's seat with his foot on the brake pedal.
The law enforcer called out to Floyd and conducted a DUI test shortly after. He was then arrested after failing the test. The officer also noted that Floyd had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol but according to the athlete, he only had a couple of drinks.
Following the incident, Floyd was charged with two counts of DUI. This marks the second time that the athlete was arrested for the same charges. The first incident happened in 2011 when he was still with Notre Dame, according to Daily Mail.
Bruce Arians, the head coach of the Cardinals, said that the team is still looking into the matter and is currently gathering information on what really happened.
"The incident that happened this morning with Michael Floyd, gathering as much information as I can right now on what happened and what our options are going forward," he said. "I will probably have more information on that by Wednesday. Right now, it's way too soon to know what actually happened and what can be done."
Depending on the outcome of the investigations, Floyd could be looking at getting suspended by the NFL from the Cardinals' football-related activities.
