After 20 minutes of police chase, two suspects died and four Chicago Police officers were injured in a collision that ended in a quiet residential section of West Pullman. The high-speed chase stretched for nearly 15 miles.

On Friday afternoon, 71-year-old Michael Wells witnessed how an unmarked police SUV crashed into his home and another car flipped onto its roof. The wrecked vehicles were strewn across his front yard. The incident happened at Union and West 124th streets.

Wells told in Sun Times that he thought someone had bombed the house because of the loud explosion from the car crash. The noise disturbed the late-morning calm in the residential area. Minutes after the crash, Wells looked out from his window and police was everywhere. Fearing police would begin shooting at the suspects' car, Wells ducked down.

Wells' wife, Maxine, said she had just parked her van in front of their house when she saw the unmarked police vehicle and suspects' getaway vehicle. "I'm blessed. I could've been hurt. He could have hit the van, and I was pressed up against the van," Maxine told in the same article from Sun Times. She added the car crash was terrible that everything was flying. In addition, the police vehicle apparently caught fire.

According to police, two suspects died. One is named Ronald Arrington, 22, who was taken to Stroger Hospital. He was declared dead in Stroger Hospital at 12:39 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Another suspected died after he was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Police have not released his name.

As per report from CBS Local, first Deputy Supt. John Escalante described the incident as a "horrific crash."

The car chase started at around 11 a.m. in the southwest suburbs. The suspects confronted the manager of an Arby's restaurant at West 191st Street and Harlem Avenue in the parking lot. The manager was going to the bank to deposit money.

The robbers stole a huge amount of cash from the manager, who suffered minor injuries in the robbery.

Illinois State Police spotted the suspect vehicle on Interstate 57, and then Chicago Police later joined the chase. The high-speed car chase lasted some 20 minutes. According to Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, the suspect vehicle car collided with a police vehicle at 124th and Union.
