Chinese Christian Church Music Institute for Worship (CCCMIW), a non-denominational, non-profit music ministry, will be holding two music camps in Louisville, Kentucky, and San Francisco, California, from July 18-22 and August 1-5 respectively.

In mid-west Kentucky, the camp is a choral conducting master class and seminar “devoted to the enhancement of beautiful and communicative choral singing”. It will be held in Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS). The conducting faculty includes Michael Lancaster, conducting faculty of SBTS, Richard Lin, president of CCMIW, Jerry Blackstone, director of choirs of University of Michigan, and Kent Hatteberg, director of choral activities of University of Louisville.

This workshop offers two graduate credit hours and students will be guided through a series of professional training in conducting and rehearsing techniques for various choral ensembles. For evaluation, students will be videotaped while conducting in class. Written assignments are also required: video critiques and response and reflection to textbooks.

Following this workshop is another music camp in the west coast San Francisco organized especially for youths. It’s a six-day event to be held in Notre Dame de Namur University. With the focus on worship planning and creative arts in worship, its programs include choral rehearsals, handbells, voice classes, scriptures dramatizations, small group activities, instrumental ensembles and more. In addition, youth scholarship is also available for high-school and college full-time students.
