Car enthusiasts first saw the 2016 BMW M2 at this year's North American International Auto Show. After that, they are convinced that the next-generation of BMW M division is going to be an instant hit after testing out its track and road performance. Now, here's the latest round up of update about 2016 BMW M2 release date, features and price.

According to a press release from BMW, the 2016 M2 comes with six-cylinder in-line engine, lightweight aluminium M Sport suspension, rear-wheel-drive agility and extrovert styling. Moreover, the car has "all the ingredients" to give the best driving experience.

Outside, the upcoming vehicle rocks a muscular yet not overdone design. The 2016 M2 sports a 19-inch aluminum wheels in M double-spoke design, a stunning three-dimensional design on its grill, a twin-tailpipe exhaust system and twin circular headlights.

Most of the coupes are made for two passengers, but the BMW M2 offers car enthusiasts a roomier interior. The vehicle is perfect for those who are looking for big space and want to carry additional passengers. This 4-seater car is also ideal for family get-away, and it has spacious back seat for big luggage.

The M2 is powered with a single-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six engine, pumping 365bhp just 500rpm before it hits its rev limiter at 7,000rpm. In addition, the car runs from zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds with the 7-speed DCT, while the six-speed manual can have the same acceleration at 0.2 seconds slower, as per reports from Autoexpress.

Furthermore, SlashGear reported that 2016 BMW M2 has impressive road and track performance, coupled with good handling. The vehicle also give drivers so much confidence to take big, swooping turns on unfamiliar routes at 90+ mph. With superb braking system, the driver feels safe inside the car.

Under normal road conditions, the BMW M2 is fun and enjoyable to ride with a more precise and responsive front combined with a more stable rear end. Its Active M Differential on the rear axle gives drivers a worry-free driving experience. Additionally, the M2 is perfectly engineered to have superb traction.

In a review from GT Spirit, the car's overall score is 8.8 out of 10, based on road performance, handling, comfort, exterior and interior design, and engine.

The 2016 BMW is now available and comes at a starting price of $51,700, which excludes the destination charge of $995.
