2016 McLaren 650S Release Date, Specs, Price, and Review: Arriving This Year

British carmaker McLaren recently confirmed that the sports coupe 2016 McLaren 650S will be arriving this year. Although details about the new supercar are very hard to come by since the carmaker has not announced a specific date for its official release.

The new 2016 McLaren 650S comes at a price tag of $400,000 per unit and packs 750 horsepower. But the 3.8-liter McLaren 650S will set you back $265.500. This model packs 640 horsepower capable of producing 7,250 revolutions per minute. Top Speed estimated that since McLaren has started to share technologies between models, the new 2016 McLaren 650S will also be sporting MonoCell carbon-fiber tub chassis found in the 650S and P1.

On the outside, the 2016 650S will have McLaren's signature dihedral doors, first seen on the McLaren F1, which are lighter and more aerodynamic than conventional doors. They are also more practical as the single hinge design requires less room to open and makes it much easier to get in and out the cabin.

Grip the tactile, small-diameter steering wheel and your fingertips' sense of connection to the McLaren 650S echoes that of McLaren's racing drivers in a Formula 1 cockpit - the shape, the grip and the feel were all inspired by the steering wheels in race cars.
