General Motors Co. revealed the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro at the New York Auto Show last March. In a report from Lansing State Journal, the 2017 version boasts a 6.2.liter V-8 engine that pumps out 640 horsepower. This Camaro also offers an option of six-speed manual transmission with active rev matching. This makes the 2017 version as the most powerful Camaro until now.

GM'S Lansing regional plant manager, Mike Trevorrow stated that this is a kind of pinnacle for them.

"It's the fastest car I've seen parked," Trevorrow added.

Moreover, this 2017 version will have a new 4-cylinder engine for the first time. It is incorporated with 10-speed automatic. This will have smaller steps between gears, making the engine to stay at optimal rpm. The car also emphasizes handling as it offers 640 pound-feet of torque.

Furthermore, the sixth generation Chevy Camaro weighs 200 pounds less than its previous version. According to Handi.TECH, the exterior design of the new Chevy Camaro is concentrated on aerodynamics. This car has also bigger grille that provides greater flow. The new Camaro also sports bigger front splitter, a new hood with a carbon fiber insert, and a wing in rear.

On the other hand, the interior of the 2017 version is faithful to the Chevrolet language style. The instrument panel has stayed unchanged, but some features are added. One of these is chrome surrounds for the analogue gauges. In addition, most of the buttons of infotainment system are placed below the screen. Heating and cooling controls are unified into the rings, encompassing air ducts. This enables the front section to feel more comfortable. This will also give a lot of room for the driver.

The Chevy Camaro is now in pre-production at the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant of GM. The plant began a third shift this week. The plant reportedly hired 500 people in January because of the demand in Camaro.
