The Ford Mustang proved that it is one of the best-selling cars in the world, so it is not surprising that car enthusiasts are now asking about the latest developments in the next-generation Mustang. Latest reports say the special editions of the brand, 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R, will feature improved standard equipment.

Reports from Motor Trend say Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R's taller rear deck lid spoiler is now a standard feature on the regular Shelby GT350. Buyers can also choose from Lightning Blue, Grabber Blue, and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat color options. It is reported that Competition Orange and Deep Impact Blue have been deleted from the selection.

Furthermore, an all-new Electronics Package, which is renamed R-Electronics package, is now available for the Mustang Shelby GT350. The bundle includes voice-activated navigation, toggle switches, side view mirror-integrated turn signals, electronic climate control, universal garage door opener and a nine-speaker audio system. Also, the package offers Sync 3 infotainment system,

According to AutoMobile Mag, the 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 introduces a 5.2-liter flat-plane V-8 engine, partnered with a six-speed manual transmission for ferocious road performance.  It is also reported that the price of the new car shouldn't increase too much over the 2016 model. The GT350 might be available for around $48,695, and the new GT350R might cost around $62,195.

As for the release date of the 2017 Ford Mustang models, the company has not yet revealed any details.

Meanwhile, there are 2,000 extra Mustangs heading to Australia and due to arrive towards the end of 2016. The success of Mustang in the region proves its next edition will also become an instant hit for car lovers.  

"The 2000 extra Mustangs heading for Australian shores demonstrates the excitement around the vehicle, and it validates Ford Australia's commitment to invest in expanding our performance vehicle line-up to five models this year," Graeme Whickman, President and CEO, Ford of Australia, told in TechAU.

Ford Australia communications and public affairs director Wes Sherwood also added that they now have more than 6,000 orders and the waiting list is out to 2017, according to report from Car Advice.

Industry experts say buyers love the raspy V8 nature of the Mustang GT. Sales charts show only around 12 per cent of buyers choose the four-cylinder turbocharged petrol Mustang.
