Mercedes-Benz's updated S-Class Cabriolet will soon be unveiled but it seems that the German automaker cannot stop sharing teaser photos of its upcoming drop-top. Another photo of the 2017 S-Class Cabriolet has been shared by the brand's official U.S. Twitter account.

On Monday, the manufacturer posted the image above and captioned it with "After 44 years, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is back. The world debut will be at the Frankfurt Motor Show."

The photo provides the first official glimpse into the convertible's lavish interior and reinforces an artist's sketch shown off two weeks ago. It depicts the new S-Class Cabriolet furnished with red leather seats along with the outgoing model in the background.

Once available, the 2017 model will be the automaker's first S-Class Cabriolet model in about half a century. The most recent Mercedes-Benz open-top S-Class was released in the 1960s.

The teaser photo also confirms that the new convertible will be inspired by the S-Class coupe launched by the company in 2014. It features a similar digital infotainment display in place of the gauge cluster and center-stack screen.

Mercedes-Benz appear to have included monitors at the back of the front headrests as well as high-end Burmester speakers on the vehicle's tonneau cover.

The upcoming Cabriolet will be a four-seater luxury drop-top that is marketed as the "most comfortable Cabriolet in the world." As such, the company significantly improved its climate comfort features including an updated version of the AIRCAP system, AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, heated armrests, and rear seat heating technology.

The AIRCAP, Mercedes' automatic wind protection system, is comprised of a wind deflector that automatically pops up from the upper portion of the windshield. Meanwhile, the AIRSCARF heating system works by blowing warm air around the driver's and passenger's shoulders from vents in the headrests.

Pricing has yet to be disclosed as well as the model's engine specifications. However, car enthusiasts predict that the new Cabriolet's engine will match that of the current S-Class coupe. It means that the upcoming drop-top will be equipped with a 4.7-liter V-8 coming in S550 trim, at least for the U.S. version. That engine should be able to provide 449 horsepower and 516 lb/ft of torque.

The Daimler AG-owned car brand has confirmed to debut the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15. It is expected to arrive to affiliated car dealers in mid-2016. Once in the market, the high-end S-Class Cabriolet will compete with other luxury models such as the Bentley Continental GT Speed and the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante.
