MALYASIA- 71 Malaysian youths have commissioned to mission field after the three-day walk with the nationwide missions camp closed on Thursday.

Organized by the Malaysia branch of the U.S.-based Gospel Operation International (GoInt’l) for Chinese Christians, around 380 young people from all of Malaysia gathered at Peace Heaven. Some 20 full-time missionaries from Serving In Mission (SIM), Chinese Overseas Christian Missions (COCM), Wycliffe Bible Translators, Far East Broadcasting Corporation (FEBC) and others have attended and gave testimonies.

Through keynote speeches by renowned pastor who are very experienced in Chinese missions and world missions, attendants have not only able to see the great harvest field and to hear the calling of the Lord for His workers, but have they also caught by the passion and faith of the speakers.

As most of young Christians may have doubt about their capabilities to take up the burden of pioneering missions, workshops about how to adapt to cross-culture exposure, media and missions, how to confirm God’s calling and even marriage, have expanded their horizon. They have thus strengthened to accept the challenge.

Thursday morning, Rev. Yip, who has been serving with GoInt’l for many years, exhorted the young Christians at the very last sermon. While he explained that there are so many opportunities for Christians to share the Gospel out there, he concluded that it is a must for Christians to be sent out for the Great Commission. Under worship music, all attendants were on fire and the conference is pushed to the climax.

Some 71 attendants have later confirmed their calling to join mission works, and around half of them will be sent to the mission fields in three to five years after receiving training.

"There has been eight years that I have not seen such passionate response of Malaysian youth people to missions," Rev. Chan Fong, senior pastor of the Grace Singapore Chinese Christian Church (GSCCC), the main speaker of the conference, told the Gospel Herald. He expressed his hope that he would meet all these commissioned ones in mission fields three to five years later.
