From June 1-4, 2005, the 2nd World Chinese Women Mission Conference commenced in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, East Malaysia through the Chinese Coordination Centre of World Evangelism.
More than 840 Chinese sisters from more than 20 countries/regions participated.
Workshops in Chinese and English. Discuss about the new mission opportunities in the 21st centry, the new meaning of “mission”, the new mission fields, etc. as well as the role of women in mission, and how they can serve the church and mission fields better.
The organizer hopes that this conference can give the sisters a greater vision of mission and mobilize more Chinese sisters to take part in doing mission.
Speaker Dr. Jing-wen Zeng said in her speech that to face the challenge of mission in this world, the Chinese sisters should equipe themselves, which focusing on the cooperation among different mission partners and the mission training.
Rev. Ce-hwa Zeng, the assistant general secretary of CCCOWE, described this conference as “very successful”. He said that the Chinese sisters recognized more clearly their role of mission, and united them to do mission with one heart.
The first World Chinese Women Mission Conference was held in Nov, 1998, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the conference, which gathered almost 600 women pastors and believers, participants confirmed the vision of enhancing the education of missionaries. Five mission paths were also set in this conference, which were respectively focusing on the democratic regions, post-communist regions, the regions in the 10/40 window, the minorities which didn’t have the Bible translated into their mother language, and the scattered inhabitants.
