Larry Bird, the President of Basketball Operations for the Indiana Pacers, recently confirmed that the team has signed former Chicago Bulls point guard Aaron Brooks. According to the executive, the addition of Brooks to the Pacers' roster means head coach Nate McMillian will have another reliable shooter who can easily hit long-range points.

Brooks made his debut in the NBA in 2007 after being selected by the Houston Rockets as the 26^th pick of the first round. During his four-year stay with the team, he was able to reach his career-high by making an average of 19 points per game.

He was then traded to the Phoenix Suns in 2011 in exchange for Goran Dragic. He then became a free agent in 2012 due to the aftermath of the 2011 NBA lockout. That's when he joined the Sacramento Kings and stayed with the team for a year.

He then returned to Houston in 2013 but was then traded to the Denver Nuggets the following year. During the offseason of that year, he signed with the Chicago Bulls and remained with the team for two seasons.

During his last year with the Bulls, he averaged 7.1 points per game with 2.6 assists and 1.5 rebounds. On average, Brooks is a 37 percent shooter from the three point line. This will certainly come in handy for the Bulls next season. He could also serve as a reliable partner to fellow Bulls guard Dwayne Wade.

According to Bird, the arrival of Brooks in Chicago will help strengthen the team's secondary unit.

"Aaron is a proven point guard in the NBA," he said according to NBA.com. "He can create and shoot the three. He's another scorer for our second unit who plays at a high level at both ends of the court.

The exact details of Brooks' contract with the Pacers are still unknown but according to the Chicago Tribune, he signed a one-year deal with the team. But, due to the team's policy, the amount of money that Brooks will get through the contract was not disclosed.
