On Wednesday, Acer officially announced a line of powerful Android devices at the IFA 2015 event in Berlin, Germany. The Taiwan-based tech company introduced the new Acer Predator 6 smartphone and Predator 8 tablet, devices that are expected to deliver top-notch gaming experience.

Details about the Predator 6 were thin but according to a representative who has spoken during Acer's "next@acer" conference at the IFA, it will pack impressive specs that will enable it run any Android mobile game thrown at it.

The new smartphone model is said to feature a deca-core MediaTek chipset partnered with 4GB of RAM. The actual MediaTek variant is not identified but it is rumored to be the Helio X20, which is composed of two powerful ARM Cortex-A72 cores, supported up by eight mid- and low-power Cortex-A53s.

As its name implies, the screen measures 6-inch diagonally packed with 720p resolution. There is no mention about the phone's front snapper but its primary camera will have a 21-megapixel sensor.

Joining the Predator 6 is the 8-inch Predator 8 tablet, a device which Acer has fully detailed during the event. The display will have an HD (1920x1080) resolution display wrapped in a unique aluminum body. There will be four unorthodox-looking, front-facing red speakers.

The speaker system is actually called "Predator Quadio," an array of four speakers integrated with a special digital signal processing (DSP) algorithm to enhance sound quality with virtual surround. It is complemented with Acer's "Predator TacSense," which provides haptic feedback for games and videos played on the device.

An Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor will powering things from the inside. It is coupled with 2GB RAM and comes with either a 32 or 64GB of storage variants with an option to expand via a microSD card. The NVIDIA Shield tablet, the device that the Predator 8 will rival once it reaches the market, is powered by NVIDIA's own quad-core Tegra K1 chipset. It is also an 8-inch tablet but sports a display with 1920x1200 resolution.

Furthermore, the company says that its new tablet is equipped with the "Predator Precision Plus" technology. This feature incorporates smaller and more densely arranged touch sensors. It means that users will be able to enjoy a more precise control, resulting to a more immersive gaming experience. The technology will also allow artists to create better artworks as the screen is sensitive enough to support the use of a stylus.

When this duo of gaming-focused Android devices hit the market, they will enter an arena saturated with other models arguably led by the NVIDIA Shield. While there is still no word about the Predator 6's price and release date, Acer shared that the Predator 8 will arrive in North America on November 6 for a retail price of $300.

The tablet will be sold exclusively at Newegg, an online electronics seller, for the first two weeks. After that, it will be available at other online and offline retailers. The Predator will also be sold later on in Europe for €349 and in China for ¥2499.
