Adele's hit song Hello is such a smashing success that it has topped the pop music charts in 28 countries. It's no surprise then why Miss Piggy, who only recently has split with long-term love interest Kermit the Frog, chose this song to sing out her heartache.

The Telegraph reports that Miss Piggy's siren song appeared in the promo video released during the recent American Music Awards, where the famous pig is dressed like Adele in a sepia-toned backdrop. The parody also features her ex Kermit, whom viewers will no doubt humor viewers who have witnessed the Muppet couple's public breakup in 2014.

Many feel however that this would not possibly go well in Kermit's favor and would instead pull the audience's sympathy towards the broken hearted Piggy.

Another thing that the Muppet's Adele parody video has produced is an interest in the top Muppet parody videos that has regaled audiences far and wide down the years.

Spoofing songs have become such a staple on the late Jim Henson's show that the parodies have become a recognizable Muppet trademark.

NME cites a few of the best ones including Bohemian Rhapsody, the Queen classic from 1975. The song is handled quite well by Gonzo, a few chickens, Animal, Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem, plus cameos from Beaker, Statler, and Waldorf.

Beaker rendered Beethoven's Ode to Joy with his own unique take on the 9th symphony. That it would end in disaster is something that most expect.

Kermit and Scooter also rap their way through Eminem's My Name Is in a delightfully clumsy way.

Robin Thicke's controversial Blurred Lines video gives audiences a barrel of laughs when Kermit, Miss Piggy and Grover try to copy Thicke's strutting and suave crooning.

Muppet Wikia also throws in its own list of impressive renditions:

§  "Pride", a parody of "Slide" sung by The Goo Goo Dolls

§  "Just the Way You Are", a parody of "Just the Way You Are" sung by Billy Joel

§  "Dancin'", a parody of "Fallin'" sung by Alicia Keys

§  "Hot and Cold", a parody of "Hot n Cold" sung by Katy Perry

§  "(A Monster Went and) Ate My Red Two", a parody of "(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes" sung by Elvis Costello

§  "Hold My Hand", a parody of "Hold My Hand" sung by Hootie & the Blowfish

§  "Time to Say Goodnight", a parody of "Time to say Goodbye" sung by Andrea Bocelli
