Amazing Grace 3 Released with Gospel Singers

By John Ma

NASHVILLE -- Some of country music’s best loved and most successful artists have come together on a heartwarming compilation of country-flavored gospel music, produced by Scott Hendricks. "Amazing Grace 3: A Country Salute to Gospel" is to be released on the Sparrow Label on June 15th.

In the third installment of the highly successful Amazing Grace series (the first two sold a combined 1.5 million units and both received Grammy Awards) listeners are treated to a star-studded group of country artists including Trace Adkins, Keith Urban, Buddy Jewell, Sara Evans, Jamie O’Neal, Joe Nichols, Cyndi Thomson, Josh Turner, Dierks Bentley, The Isaacs and a duet from Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown with Christian music icon Steven Curtis Chapman. And, while best known for their country stylings, these artists all have gospel roots and have come together for this special recording to share them with the listener.

Amazing Grace 3: A Country Salute to Gospel contains an uplifting collection of classic gospel songs and there is clearly a very personal connection for all of the artists. For many artists, these are the songs they grew up with. For Keith Urban, the song “I’ll Fly Away” gives us “a positive look on the next phase of our life that we don’t know.” Cyndi Thomson chose “Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus” because, she says, it is a “Thank You to Him” for giving her a voice. Trace Adkins remembers standing beside his grandfather in church and says, “All I ever wanted to do was to sing like my grandfather.”

The tracks showcase not only familiar names, but familiar songs as well:

· I’ll Fly Away – Keith Urban

· ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust In Jesus – Cyndi Thomson

· Softly & Tenderly – Josh Turner

· Nothing But The Blood – Steven Curtis Chapman & Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown

· It Is No Secret – Dierks Bentley

· I Need Thee Every Hour – Jamie O’Neal

· Victory In Jesus – Trace Adkins

· Just A Closer Walk With Thee – Joe Nichols

· Rock of Ages – The Isaacs

· Leaning on the Everlasting Arms – Buddy Jewell

· Sweet Bye and Bye – Sara Evans

Fans will delight at hearing a new style from their favorite country artists and will also be able to experience songs of faith in an entirely different light. Through these recordings, we are given a special invitation into another side of these artists and the classic gospel songs they sing.

With over 1.5 million units sold between Amazing Grace Volume 1 & 2, Amazing Grace 3: A Country Salute to Gospel stands ready to offer listeners more of what they love. Combining inspiration and faith with the American spirit of country and folk music, Amazing Grace 3: A Country Salute to Gospel delivers a soulful and stirring album that is sure to please country and Christian fans alike.
