'American Horror Story' Season 6 Updates: Teasers, Spoilers and Theories

There is a new tidbit about "American Horror Story" Season 6. The show executive John Landgraf dropped this himself.

Speaking at the press tour for the Television Critics Association, as reported by TV Line, Landgraf shared that the new season will cover two timelines. [Season 6] is "set in the present [with] echoes of the past... It's set in two time periods, but principally in the present," he said. 

But his generosity with details stopped here. He added that he cannot reveal more details on the show because he will be held accountable by Ryan Murphy. He joked that Murphy will kill him if he releases some teasers. 

In a related news, a new theory has been released on how Murphy will tie the first five seasons together. He has long promised the fans that there is really a connection among all the seasons, but fans have yet to concretely see what he is saying. Even if there is a common thread introduced from time to time, none is really satisfying. 

According to Vanity Fair, there is a theory that can make sense of the five distinctive episodes and tie them together. Vanity Fair claimed that this theory is based on the first part of Dante Alighieri's infamous work, the "Divine Comedy," particularly the first one, "Inferno." In "Inferno," readers are introduced to nine circles of "hell" - Lust, Limbo, Gluttony, Greed, Hersey, Anger, Fraud, Treachery, and Violence.

TV Guide took this theory and tried to apply it on "American Horror Story." The site claimed that it is quite possible that each season matches with one of the circles of hell in "Dante's Inferno." If this is the case, Season 1 may be in the circle of lust, season 2 in the fraud circle, season 3 in the treachery circle, season 4 in the circle of greed, and season 5 in the circle of gluttony.

Uproxx cautioned against believing this theory especially since there are certain discrepancies. One of the main discrepancies is that the seasons are not in the same order as the circles of hell as presented by Dante. In addition, if there are a total of nine circles of hell, does it mean there will be up to season 9 of "American Horror Story?"

Whether this theory is correct or not, fans certainly cannot wait for season 6. It will be interesting to see if this new season may very well match another circle of hell.
