Though the Android 4.4.2 KitKat is still in the process of rolling out across major service providers, there are speculations that say Google is currently finalizing preparations to launch the Android 4.4.3 update.

If rumors are to be believed that would mean the world will be seeing a potential Android 4.4.3 launch date sometime within the next following weeks. Optimism aside, the first so-called confirmation of the Android 4.4.3 release ended in a debacle.

Occurring in April, the incident happened when Sprint accidentally mistyped an announcement, leading users to believe that the Android 4.4.3 had been released with the Google Nexus 5. In spite of it all, disappointed users can still take comfort in knowing that the Nexus 5 is still on the list of devices rumored to be getting the Android 4.4.3 upgrade.

What are we to expect from the Android 4.4.3? For starters, the Android 4.4.3 is more likely a massive fix for bugs associated with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Large scale changes to the user-interface is less likley to happen, and may be reserved for the rumored Android 4.5 upgrade. If that were true, the Android 4.4.3 is likely the last of the Android 4.4 updates.

It was initially expected that Google, which developed the Android OS, would only roll out the Android 4.4.3 for its own lineup of flagship devices that include the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10. Other Google devices said to be receiving the Android 4.4.3 include the Google Play Edition devices.

However, rumors over the past few days suggest otherwise. There is already word that the Android 4.4.3 rollout may extend to non-Google devices such as Samsung Galaxy s4 GPE, Moto X, original HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia Z Gpe, Sony Xperia Z Ultra GPE, and HTC One M8 GPE.

This might be a welcome development for users whom have reported a number of bugs dogging the Android 4.4.2 release for the Samsung Galaxy s4. A recent report by SamMobile also alleged that Samsung may also be adding the Android 4.4.3 to the Galaxy s5, which at this time is under development.
