Google officially revealed last month that its next big update, initially known only as "Android M," will be called Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

At present, Android 6.0 is still in beta phase. The technology company is only making the final preview version available for the current Nexus 5, Nexus 6, and Nexus 9 models, as well as the Nexus Player for Android TV.

The actual consumer version of the latest Android OS is expected to arrive to devices from other manufacturers once the search giant is done with releasing the software to its own line of co-branded Nexus handsets.

If previous trends are to be consulted, manufacturers such as Motorola, Samsung, and LG have been consistent in delivering the latest Android updates to their device owners.

Among recent LG models predicted to get Google's upcoming firmware is the LG G Flex 2. It is unveiled earlier this year during the annual CES 2015 event and was made available the following month. It sports a distinct curved body and display, as well as a self-healing back panel coating. The device is currently upgradable to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The G Flex 2's predecessor, the original G Flex released in 2013, may not receive the upcoming Android 6.0 update given that the model is already nearing the end of the two-year software development life span commonly given to mobile devices.

However, a list posted by Slash Gear, which can be seen below, claims that the two-year-old curved smartphone is also included in the Marshmallow waiting list.

According to the technology site, these LG models will not be receiving a "vanilla" or pure version of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is implemented for Google's Nexus devices. Instead, it will most likely be an Android M layered with LG's own custom user interface.

The list includes the original LG G Pad 10.1 launched in 2014, adding fuel to speculations that the South Korean manufacturer's next generation LG G Pad II 10.1 tablet will be updated to Android 6.0. The upcoming tablet is said to arrive with Android 4.4 KitKat onboard but is expected to jump directly to Android 6.0 Marshmallow before the year ends.

Even with other recently launched slates such as the LG G Pad II 8 and the LG G Pad X 8.2, the company's unannounced G Pad II 10.1 is the only LG tablet rumored to get the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
