When it comes to a brand new operating system version, you can be sure that it is in the best interest of the smartphone manufacturer to roll out the update in question as soon as possible. After all, this might be one of the main points as to why people decide to stick with that particular brand, right? With Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat update being announced in August this year, and making its way to Google’s very own stable of mobile devices first (although the LG V20 flagship smartphone does hold the distinction of being the first non-Google device to arrive with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box), what about the remaining hardware manufacturers? If history is to be of any indicator, then Motorola smartphone owners will be pleased to know that Android 7.0 Nougat might be arriving on select Moto X, Moto G and Moto Z smartphones in due time.

After all, Motorola did happen to be one of the first few smartphone manufacturers that seeded the previous Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its range of qualified smartphones. Hence, the same applies to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update as well, where it began to arrive on the Moto G and Moto G4 Plus smartphones over in India. Those in the world’s largest democracy were able to enjoy the Android 7.0 Nougat update via OTA (Over The Air), and this is but a precursor of what is set to arrive in due time.

Apart from that, there was a Motorola spokesperson who did let the cat out of the bag earlier on, citing that the Moto Z and Moto G4 series would receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update some time in the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2016, and it seems that what has happened in India is not too far off from the truth. The Moto G4 series has already seen that promise fulfilled, and so we now turn our attention to the Moto Z series.

Moto Z owners who happen to own the likes of the Moto Z Force, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, and Moto Z Play Droid should certainly keep a keen eye out for the Android 7.0 Nougat update. As to the exact date of the Android 7.0 Nougat update rollout, no one has an idea on when that will happen -- as with the apocalypse. Well, we would assume that once the Moto Z series of devices receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update, only will the remaining models from the Moto X family pick it up.

We do look forward to Android 7.0 Nougat arriving on the Moto X Force, Moto X Play, Moto X Style, Moto G (3rd gen), Moto E (3rd gen), Moto Droid 2015 series, Moto G Play (4th gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd gen), Droid Turbo 2, and Droid Maxx 2. All that we can do now is to sit tight and wait, and then things will get clearer. After all, there are still 2 more months to go before Q4 2016 is over.
