Lenovo-owned Motorola might not be as successful as they were in terms of rolling out popular smartphones compared to their glory days, but this does not mean that they are still not in the smartphone game. In fact, with so many people looking forward to the release of the Android 7.0 Nougat update on their respective non-Google devices, Motorola device owners simply want to know this for this particular season: when will the Android 7.0 Nougat update arrive on my Moto G, Moto X, Moto Z Series and Droid Turbo?

Well, it was last week that a handful of Moto Z and Moto Z Force owners began to notice that they have started to receive an update to Android 7.0 Nougat. So far, both Motorola and Verizon have more or less remained mum on the situation, perhaps it is just a soak test, or it is a really wide release for the masses, but at least the folks over at Motorola decided to break the silence and confirm this sweet nugget of news.

Motorola did mention that the Moto Z as well as the Moto Z Force will be on the receiving end of the Android 7.0 Nougat update from this week onward, and it will not be a localized update. Rather, this will be an update that will be made available across the globe, now how about that? In other words, global would most probably include the Moto Z DROID and Moto Z Force DROID over in the US, as well as the Moto Z that arrives unlocked.

Several Reddit users also made mention of the NCL26.86-11 update. Be informed, however, that the NCL26.86-11 update would weigh in at approximately 1.5GB, so you might want to perform the update while you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, and ensure that there is at least 50% of battery life on your handset before going ahead with the update installation. The entire installation process should take around 20 minutes to comlete.

Verizon did put up the Android 7.0 Nougat changelog as well for our perusal, where this particularly new build will come with the build number of NCL25.86-11, at least for Moto Z owners on Verizon. This also means that there is a slew of new features with which Moto Z owners are able to look forward to, including the likes of Multi window, app quick switching, bundled notifications, new notification settings, new quick settings toggles, new emoji, as well as a slideout menu in settings, among others.

Of course, some degree of patience is required for the Moto G, Moto X and Droid Turbo owners, since it looks like it is the Moto Z series that has picked up the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Whatever it is, it should not be too far off from your smartphone (assuming it is listed above), and you can always head to Settings > System Updates > Check For System Update constantly in order to see whether some Nougat goodness is ready and headed in your direction.
