The Android 7.0 Nougat update might have seen action across numerous Pixel and Nexus handsets already, but not too many other smartphones in the market have picked up this particular version. Samsung’s current flagships, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge have been going through the motions before the real update arrives, in the form of the Android 7.0 Nougat beta version. Already three beta versions have been released, and we have received word that the fourth Android 7.0 Nougat beta version has just been released. In the fourth beta version of the mobile operating system update, it will arrive with more bug fixes as well as relevant improvements, making it part of the Galaxy Beta software program.

Already being in the fourth iteration of the Android Nougat beta, there are certainly far fewer bugs to fix -- it is but a logical progression of events. So far, only a couple of fixes have been mentioned in the changelog itself based on what SamMobile’s investigations into the matter. The very first change mentioned that there will no longer be any more Samsung Notes app included in the update. For those who prefer their smartphones to come with as little bloatware as possible, this is certainly good news and a step in the right direction. However, Samsung Notes app fans do not have to fret, all that you need to do if you want to see it on your device is to download it from the Samsung Galaxy Apps store or the Google Play Store. After all, without the Samsung Notes app included, at least the ROM will be lighter for everyone, and you have the choice to download and install it on your own if the need arises.

As for the second change, it would be a number of minor bugs being ironed out, while the stability of the software has also seen its fair share of improvements -- definitely music to everyone’s ears. Who does not want to have a more stable device? No one whom I know of, actually.

Whatever issues that users of the fourth beta discover and report back to the Samsung team will certainly be worked on before the next beta version is released. Hence, there will still be a window of time before the final build of Android 7.0 Nougat is made available for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Interestingly enough, the fourth beta version update is not really that large in size, as we are looking at approximately 280MB so it should not take too long to download it via a Wi-Fi connection. Those who are on Samsung’s Galaxy Beta program would do well to go to Settings > Software Update, before selecting ‘Software manual download’ in order to look for the beta ROM.
