With Android 5.0 Lollipop (Android L) expected to rollout to many Samsung Galaxy devices, users are wondering what devices have gotten the latest Android Update. In the sections, we will explore the rollout situation for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge, S5 and S4.

Please note that this article will only cover the early Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung. That is because updates have not been consistent across the board. In fact, only a handful of devices have received the early Android 5.0 Lollipop, even though updates such as Android 5.0.2 are already available.

The guide will also not cover the newest Android 5.1 Lollipop, which is in the process of being rolled out to Google's Nexus and Motorola devices only. There is no word when Samsung will start releasing Android 5.1 on their phones.

So without further ado, here is the situation with the Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge, S5 and S4:

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Recently, Verizon began updating its version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Happily, the majority of users have not reported significant issues after installation.

Meanwhile, some AT&T subscribers have experienced battery life issues after installing Lollipop on their Galaxy Note 4's.  So, owners of AT&T's Galaxy Note 4 may want to wait for Android 5.1, which reportedly fixes a number of known issues associated with Lollipop.

So far, only Verizon and AT&T have rolled out some form of Android 5.0 for the Galaxy Note 4 phablet. Rollouts at other major U.S. mobile service providers are pending at this time.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

Galaxy Note Edge owners in the U.S. have yet to receive Lollipop, even though Android 5.0 for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is available in Europe and India. Australian Galaxy Note Edge users have also gotten the Lollipop update.

In the U.S., most major carriers have yet to confirm Lollipop rollout schedules for the Galaxy Note Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S5

Although this popular device has been getting a steady stream of Android 5.0 updates worldwide, things have remained relatively quiet amongst the large U.S. wireless service providers.

The only carrier to push out the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update is Verizon, which it did back in February. AT&T has confirmed a similar update in a recent Tweet, but has not rolled out the Galaxy S5 Lollipop. Other carriers have yet to announce an Android Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Samsung Galaxy S4

On Monday, April 7, AT&T began rolling out the Galaxy S4 Lollipop upgrade. This was confirmed via an announcement on the official AT&T support page. Please note that the rollout will happen in stages. AT&T Galaxy S4 owners will get a prompt as soon as their Android Lollipop upgrade is available. Some owners may need to wait several days before getting that message.

At the the time of this writing, AT&T is the first and only major U.S. carrier to be rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop on the Samsung Galaxy S4.
