Samsung is looking forward to a banner year in 2015, thanks to the upcoming entries in both the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series, but it's the older devices that are also making customers happy with new updates to their mobile operating system.

Android 5.0 Lollipop has been enjoyed by the Galaxy S5 since December, but several other Galaxy models are slowly receiving the update through the over-the-air (OTA) automatic process. Let's take a look at how some of Samsung's flagship products are coming along with that Lollipop patch.

Galaxy S5

The S5 was one of the first of any Android phones to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update a little over a month after Google first released the software, but the phone is now rolling out Android 5.0.1 Lollipop on most models of the S5. This includes those on Verizon, while Sprint and U.S. Cellular's versions are stuck on 5.0 Lollipop and still awaiting official word. If you have the Galaxy S5 LTE edition with model number G901F, then you should be getting the 5.0.2 update right now.

Other variations of the Galaxy S5 have also recently received the 5.0 update, including the Galaxy S5 Active, Galaxy S5 Duos, and the Galaxy S5 Plus. And this coming Friday, March 20, the Galaxy S5 Mini will be getting the 5.0 Lollipop update through AT&T.

With the Galaxy S6 right around the corner, many believe that Samsung may be introducing that new flagship phone with Android's latest, version 5.1 already installed. Samsung's not usually one to adopt the latest Android version early (with the December update to the S5 being a rare exception), so we'll have to wait and see if that rumor comes true in the next few months.

Galaxy S4

The 2013 model of the Galaxy S has several editions that are now receiving the 5.0.1 update, including the I9505 and I9506 models, and the S4 Active I9295 model.

Unfortunately, for owners of anything older than the S4, the Android Lollipop update has been officially canceled for you. This includes the S3, and S2.

Galaxy Note 4

Several models of the Galaxy Note 4 are currently receiving the 5.0.1 Lollipop roll-out, including the N910 model and Sprint's SM-N910P model, but the models for Verizon, U.S. Cellular, and T-Mobile are all still pending. All other models of the Note 4 do have Android 5.0 Lollipop, though.

Galaxy Note Edge

While the Note Edge is essentially a curved-screen version of the Note 4, there are still some differences in availability for each model and version of Android. The N915 model of the Galaxy Note Edge is currently rolling out with 5.0.1 Lollipop, but those on both U.S. Cellular and T-Mobile are still on 5.0.
