Android M 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date for Motorola Moto G2, G3; Moto G 2014, 2015, Moto E, Droid Turbo 2 On Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile

Motorola Rolls out Android M update on their devices

After Motorola upgraded some of its devices to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the company started seeding the update to second-generation Moto G smartphone. Previously, the update landed on Moto G Gen 3. Now, here's what is currently known about Android M update on Motorola G devices.

The Motorola Moto (Gen 2) owners can check their devices to know if Android M is already available for them, just go to About Phone > System Updates. According to NDTV, the Over-the-Air (OTA) update is now being rolled out, and it is expected to be available for both 3G and LTE-versions of the handset in India.

Last December, Moto X and Moto X Style owners from India and Brazil under AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular received their Android M firmware. Moreover, there are online reports that published Moto X and 2014 Moto X owners based in Australia got the update.

Motorola also presented its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update plans last year. The next batch of gadgets that will get the update includes Moto X Pure Edition, Moto Maxx, Moto Turbo, Droid Turbo, Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, and Google Nexus 6.

As per reports from Android Police, Verizon has started releasing Android M to the the Droid Turbo 2 (a few months after the Moto X Pure). Remember that the update is rolling out gradually, so some devices will not have the new firmware immediately.

Users should expect some Moto-specific changes after they install the latest  Android OS version. Some of the improvements are "Do Not Disturb" option under the "Sound and notification" and removal of Moto Assist feature. In general, Android M offers useful and innovative applications like Google Now on Tap and battery-saving Doze. It also features revamped app permissions, smooth user interface and new launcher.

For a successful installation, the company recommends that users have to charge their gadget for at least 50%. Users should make sure that they are connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.

If you received a notification message for the Android M update, just follow these steps:

1.       Choose "Yes, I'm in"

2.       After the update is downloaded, select the installation option.

3.       After the installation, your phone will automatically restart.

4.       When your phone turned on again, you now have Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
