Considering that Android version 6.0 (also known as Android M or Marshmallow) has been out for about a few months now, one would think that it would be on most Android devices, like the ones from Motorola.  Yes, that would be nice, but the annual tradition for Android upgrades shows that change happens slowly yet suddenly, and this is the latest news on the Android Version 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date for Motorola Moto X 1st Gen, 2nd Gen, 3rd Gen;  Moto G 2014, 2015, and Moto E on carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular, and T-Mobile. 

Motorola is working hard to put out the latest version of Android to its consumers, according to Gotta Be Mobile.  Not only did the Moto X Pure Edition in the United States receive its Android upgrade last month, but there are currently reports of multiple regions with Android 6.0 on the Moto X, the 2014 Moto X, the Moto G and even more. 

In fact, a recent report from the Science Times shows that the Moto G received an update to Android 5.1 before getting upgraded to Android 6.0.  This is quite unusual for an Android update, as this particular device was released last July in India and didn't skip Android 5.1 like a lot of devices probably will. 

Motorola wants to put Marshmallow on as many of its devices as it can, and this list includes the X Series like the Moto X 2nd Gen (2014), the Moto X Pure Edition (2015), the Moto X Play, the Moto X Force, and the Moto X Style. Also included is the G series that includes the Moto G Turbo, 2014 editions of the Moto G and Moto G 4G, as well as the Moto G 3rd Generation from 2015.  Then there is the E series, which wasn't expected to receive the Marshmallow upgrade at all, but the 2015 edition will.  Other Moto products to receive Android 6.0 include the Moto Maxx, Turbo, DROID Turbo, Moto DROID Turbo 2, and Maxx 2. 

The issue with the rollout of Android is that it tends to be slow when it comes to rolling out depending on the subscriber, such as Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, or US Cellular in the United States.  Also, Motorola might be faster to roll out the latest version of Android to certain carriers, and they don't necessarily have a list with release dates.  Therefore, you can expect to see your Motorola device listed above getting its update soon, but there is no set time.
