Android M 6.0 Marshmallow Update Release Date for Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge+, Note 5, Note 4, Note Edge, and S5

When it comes to Android, the rollout of the latest version is often slow to come, even for a big company like Samsung.  Android version 6.0 (also known as Android M or Marshmallow) has actually been available for a few months now.  It has only just recently been appearing on Android flagship phones such as those from Samsung.  This is the latest news about Android M 6.0 Upgrade Release Date for Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge+, Note 5, Note 4, Note Edge, and S5 on Verizon, US Cellular, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint. 

So, the first Samsung Android product to get the upgrade is the Galaxy S6 as well as the Galaxy S6 Edge.  We have already reported that T-Mobile and Sprint have received it, and it should be coming to Verizon, AT&T, and US Cellular as well.  Then after the Galaxy S6 Edge, it is the Galaxy Note 5, and it should be available for Verizon.  Then it should be coming to T-Mobile and AT&T. 

For those that have last year's flagship phone from Samsung, the Galaxy S5, there is some good news.  The Upgrade is available for you.  There is a report from Ubergizmo saying that the upgrade is only available in South Korea, but this might not be the case. 

I can say that I know someone who has a Galaxy S5 phone, and they are starting to receive notifications that the upgrade is available.  This person is a Verizon customer, and lives in the United States.  If it is starting to come to Verizon, then surely it will come to all the other United States carriers like US Cellular, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. 

The next Samsung phone to be receiving the upgrade would be the Galaxy Note 4, as well as the Galaxy Note Edge.  The word is that it is expected to receive the upgrade sometime in March and April, but since the Galaxy S5 is starting to receive its planned upgrade, then perhaps it could arrive sooner. 

As for other Samsung users, the Galaxy Tab S2 (the 8-inch and 9.7-inch models) will get their fair share of Marshmallow after April, followed by the Galaxy Alpha in June.  

Considering that Samsung recently unveiled their Galaxy S7 device at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016, and it will have Android 6.0 right out of the box, it is good to see that the company is doing what it can to make certain that the older devices will catch up to it.   Granted, this does mean that the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 might not receive it.  As for the Samsung Galaxy S7, it is available as of March 11.
