Sony is now rolling out Android Marshmallow to a number of devices worldwide. After its Japan-only release, the latest firmware from Google is now starting to land on international variants of Xperia Z5 series, the Xperia Z4 Tablet and Xperia Z3+.

Last month, Sony Mobile U.K. announced the Xperia devices will have a Marshmallow firmware starting March 7. Good thing, the Japanese tech company kept its promise. The latest firmware is now available for OTA update in many Xperia devices.

The official blogsite of Xperia reported that firmware build 32.1.A.1.163 is live for all variants of the Xperia Z5. The Xperia Z5 Premium and Z5 Compact are also starting to receive the new operating system as well. The software update includes the first version of Android Marshmallow and security enchantments.

Sony also releases Android Marshmallow to its older devices, such Xperia Z4 Tablet Wi-Fi (SGP712) and LTE (SGP771) and the single-SIM Xperia Z3+ (E6553), according to Tech Times.  In addition, the dual-SIM variant of the Z3+ will get the update very soon.

As for the features of Marshmallow, the firmware has innovative apps that will give users a brand-new mobile experience. Through Google Now on Top, users can have tons of information by just pressing the screen harder.  There's also the battery friendly Doze application.  Moreover, the software brings a new home launcher into the mix.

Xperia Marshmallow offers brand new camera interface, Messaging app and Direct Share. By the looks of the user interface (UI), it is a nice improvement from Sony. The UI is also less cluttered and screen lag is gone

It is worth noting that "Stamina Mode" is not included in the update, but is expected to be part of a next firmware release. Another notable feature that's missing is adoptable storage, which is one of the talk-about features of Android Marshmallow.

In general, Android Marshmallow introduces revamped security system, smooth interface and functional applications.
