With every new release of a new version of Android comes the waiting game, at least for most devices.  Google announced that they were doing their Rollout around the end of September/beginning of October, and their Nexus devices have received the sweet treat of Marshmallow (also known as Android version 6.0 or Android M).  This leads other Android smartphone users of newer phones like the HTC One M9, M8, and M7 wondering when is their personal Android M 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date for U.S. Carriers like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile.

It was an HTC Twitter account that informed users when they will be receiving their Android Marshmallow update.  As expected, the HTC One M9 and HTC One M8 arrived at the top of the list, with the promise that these two flagship phones (the M9 released this year and the M8 released last year)  will be receiving the update "at the beginning end of 2015".

That's good news for the owners of these HTC flagship phones, as they will be receiving the update before Christmas. It is bad news for anyone who has the flagship HTC One M7.  This phone is more than two years old, and so it won't be getting an Android 6.0 upgrade, according to Android Pit

These are the other HTC devices that made the cut:

  • HTC One M9+
  • HTC One E9+
  • HTC One M8
  • HTC One E9
  • HTC One ME
  • HTC One E8
  • HTC One M8 Eye
  • HTC Butterfly 3
  • HTC Desire 826
  • HTC Desire 820
  • HTC Desire 816

Of course, if you want an HTC device that has Android Marshmallow ready to go, just get yourself an HTC One A9, not to be confused with the HTC One M9.   For some reason, the company decided to release an all new model, but it is not really known if this is some trial flagship phone of some type.  The company is good at releasing their new phones around Mobile World Congress, which will probably be where they will unveil the HTC One M10, assuming the company still wants to use this series name.

HTC is also known for making 90-day promises as far as the latest update of Android is concerned.  It has also been known not to meet deadlines, but they have been known to communicate with their users about it.  As far as getting more exact release dates about what HTC devices will be receiving Android 6.0 and when, Greenbot recommends following HTC's Mo Versi on Twitter.  He is the product manager at HTC, and he is often put in a position as spokesperson for the Android Release Dates for HTC devices.  Through him, the company is very good about giving an estimated time when their devices will be upgraded to the latest version of Android, as well as when delays with these upgrades happen.
