The new rollout of Android version 6.0 (also known as Android M or Marshmallow) is over four months old, but so very few Android devices actually have it up and running.  Sure. Google was able to give it to their own Nexus series, but what about other Android users on Samsung?  This is the current news on the Android M Version 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge+, Note 5, Note 4, Note Edge, and S5 for carriers on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Sprint.

SamMobile reports that Samsung was looking for beta testers last month for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge in both the United Kingdom and in South Korea.  About the only news that has developed from there is that those who registered to test the beta software received the beta update.  Pocket-Lint reports that Samsung released the 6.0.1 Marshmallow to Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge phones in South Korea on January 30.  If that is the case, then the United States can't be too far behind. 

Also, there is news that this Android 6.0 beta update seems to be rolling out to some Galaxy Note 5 units in the United States, provided they are the AT&T type.  Considering that that the Note 5 is one of the most recently released phones along with the Galaxy S6 Edge +, then it looks like an Android upgrade for the latest in Samsung's devices is imminent.

There is a report from Tech Radar saying that the Galaxy Note 4, an older Samsung device, was the first device to receive the Marshmallow update. 

There is a report from SamsungViet that updates for devices like the Galaxy Note 4, Note 4 Duos, Note Edge, Note 5, S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge +, S6 Duos, S5, S5 Neo and S5 LTE-A should be receiving the Android upgrade in Q1 2016.  Then there are reports saying that the Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Tab A, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and Tab S2 8.0 should be receiving their Android M update in Q2. 

Then there is another leak saying that the Galaxy S6 Edge + and the Note 5 will be getting its update in February, followed by the S6 and S6 Edge sometime in between February and March.  This leaves older models of Samsung devices like the Galaxy S5, Note 4, and Note Edge getting its update in between March and April. 

So, there is a lot of news about the Android update coming to Samsung products, even if the news is not quite consistent.  Generally, the company is able to follow-up with the latest version of Android, and it usually comes earlier in the year after the initial rollout in the Fall.  This would appear to be the case for this year, but there is going to be some waiting that needs to be done for Samsung users.
