Many tech enthusiasts are asking about the release date of Android Marshmallow (Android M) on several LG devices. Now, here's the latest round-up of update about Android M roll out to LG G4, G3, G4 Stylo and G Flex 2

ComputerWorld reported Marshmallow firmware landed on LG G4 in the United States on December 23.  G4 users under Sprint also received the update in the same month. After that, the device's version on T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon followed in early February.  It is also reported that LG does not release unlocked versions of its phone in the U.S, so there is no carrier-free variant available to speed things up.

For the previous-generation G3 smartphone, it got its taste of Marshmallow in the United States. Verizon users of LG G3 can already download and install the latest firmware from Google. T-Mobile's version will receive the upgrade a little later as the manufacturer is still testing the software.  Its release date is not yet revealed, so is the case with G3 devices from Sprint, AT&T and U.S. Cellular.

LG G3's Marshmallow update came to the U.S after the South-Korean tech company had started rolling out the same upgrade to the international and unlocked variants of the device. All owners of the G3 can check for an Over-the-Air (OTA) update or manually verify the update via Settings.

As for the Android M rollout to other devices from LG, Neurogadget reported that G4 Stylo, the V10, and G Flex 2 under AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, and T-Mobile are set to receive the update very soon.

It is worth mentioning that before mobile carriers release a new version of operating system, they must test it first before they cook up a rollout for each mobile device.

Android Marshmallow is packed with exciting features and applications. Google's latest operating system has a fingerprint API that allows users to make biometric authentication on their devices. This feature will also help users to make more secured online transactions. Also, the system introduces Now On Tap and battery-friendly Doze.

Interestingly, the number of Android M users increased last month, according to CNET. After showing little growth since its release last year, the software doubled its adoption rate. A report from Android Developers Dashboard shows Marshmallow users increased by 2.3 percent a month ago.
